Special Delivery

I've been home for over a week now. Each night Sow and I talk on the phone, we haven't quite got around to getting the video iChat hooked up. (I'm slacking. I know.) I'm missing Ray a lot. So last night Sow put the phone next to him while he was talking up a storm. Or at least practicing with sounds. Then she put the phone to his ear and I made a bunch of noises like I did when I was there. He went quiet, and his eyes went wide, then he started looking around. He eventually started talking back, making similar whirs, clicks, and raspberries. But when I started talking to him, saying things like, "Who's a silly billy? How you get so silly!?", he started to cry. Then I'd make the noises like before and he'd smile again.

I sent out a care package for him yesterday. About $50 worth of clothing blankets and toys that cost about $30 to ship. Boy's baby clothes in Chiang Mai are some pretty slim pickin's, and then we only want the ones that button up the front. Anyhow, my first day back I ran out to Target, went a little crazy, and bought Ray a bunch of things. I'm going to try and send care packages as frequently as possible. I've also got a bunch of stuff for Sow I'd forgotten about, so it won't be long before the second one goes out. Hopefully by number 3 or 4 I can hand deliver it.
