Day 3

How could I possibly go a day without putting up pics of little Rayluk!? Believe it or not, this is the first picture of me to appear on this blog. I was trying to save the moment to share with him.

Day three has been great. Sow's feeling a whole lot better. She's up and walking around, but still looks for a shoulder to lean on here and there. We went to the nursery and they showed us how to give him a bath and wrap him like a little eskimo. I even learned to fold a cloth diaper. I couldn't help but laugh while they bathed him. He screamed his head off. I kept thinking I can laugh now, because later I'll barely be able to bath him since I'll be so afraid he's getting hurt. I'm was really glad to see him giving it to a trained professional. That's my boy!

We finally have him in our room around the clock. I got to hold him, feed him, burp him, wrap him up, and even played an assist in a diaper change. But it all goes in as white as, well, milk!? He mostly just sleeps. He looks so peaceful. I find myself staring at him. I can't just walk past to do something. I have to stop and drink him in. He's just so wondrous. I think about my grandfather who passed away a few years back, and them my grandmother, and I find it so sad that they'll never get to meet this perfect little baby.



It's really interesting watching Sow try and wake him up. I was having flashbacks to her waking me up in the middle of the night when she couldn't sleep. Tickling my nose and poking me in the side. Whispering, Ray? Ray, honey? Ray? Wake up Ray...
