And So It Has Begun...

We spent the last couple hours trying to get Rayluk thru his first evening feeding with us. I thought it might somehow take less than the 2 hours that it did.

We tag teamed him. I'd work the feet while Sow leveled his head. Then I'd switch off to dripping a little formula on his lips to get him started on the nipple. Then he'd fall asleep and I'd have to start working the feet again. There were a few times there where he woke up enough to let out a really good squeal. Then after the first hour and a half or so he needed a diaper change, and luckily two nurses showed up right as we heard it happen. I've spent the last half hour holding and burping him. He's looking like a little angel again, letting out the occasional squeak. It's just so worth it once you get the balance just right. We'll see what form he take two hours from now when we get up for the next feeding.
